Cleared out my spam folder yesterday.
Found three client inquiries from two months ago.
Lost opportunities. Just sitting there.
Because my email provider thought they looked "suspicious."
You know what looks suspicious to spam filters?
New people reaching out. Unusual email addresses. Messages with links. Excited language.
Basically... exactly what a warm lead looks like.
So while I'm wondering why my outreach isn't converting, potential clients are sitting in spam thinking I'm ignoring them.
Great.
How Jennifer Aniston’s LolaVie brand grew sales 40% with CTV ads
The DTC beauty category is crowded. To break through, Jennifer Aniston’s brand LolaVie, worked with Roku Ads Manager to easily set up, test, and optimize CTV ad creatives. The campaign helped drive a big lift in sales and customer growth, helping LolaVie break through in the crowded beauty category.
Now I check spam daily. Every morning. Before anything else.
And I find stuff constantly.
Partnerships. Speaking gigs. Client inquiries. Opportunities.
All flagged as spam because they didn't fit some algorithm's pattern.
Here's what kills me.
Everyone obsesses over getting more attention. More traffic. More leads.
Meanwhile they're not even seeing the leads they already have.
It's like complaining you're hungry while there's food in your fridge that you forgot about.
Dumb, right?
But we all do it.
Chase new instead of checking what's already there.
So here's what I do now:
Check spam folder. Every day. First thing.
Reply to everything real within 24 hours (even if it's old).
Set up better filters so good stuff doesn't get flagged.
Found over $20K in opportunities just sitting in spam over the last year.
Money I almost missed because I trusted my inbox to show me everything important.
It doesn't.
Half your opportunities are probably hiding.
Go check.
Right now.
Before you write another post or send another email or optimize another funnel.
Check your damn spam folder.

P.S. Seriously. Stop reading. Go check your spam. Reply to anything real. You can thank me later.
88% resolved. 22% loyal. Your stack has a problem.
Those numbers aren't a CX issue — they're a design issue. Gladly's 2026 Customer Expectations Report breaks down exactly where AI-powered service loses customers, and what the architecture of loyalty-driven CX actually looks like.
